In the modern AV branch, “immersion” reduces the distance between observer and presentation. Popular immersive experiences like VR glasses isolate users from their environment. This is in contrast to the typical AV concept: Experience media together. That’s why the Solutions4AV department provides immersive solutions which can be experienced together. The important aspects of immersive rooms and how they appear, is shown in the following showcases.
3D visualizations
With a bending radius of 2.5 m this high resolution LED wall surrounds the observer’s field-of-view. For applications like this, special solutions like an individual designed substructure or a multitouch capable sensor for interactivity are usually needed. The primeTOUCH curved (by Solutions4AV) enables interactivity on curved surfaces. Combined with the powerful HMS media server as a playout solution, several content scenarios can be realized.
Thinner than a few millimetres thick, the LG wallpaper OLEDs appear like paintings. The content can be synchronized with the LED wall or can be designed individually.
The shown conference room allows content presentation in a 360° environment. Therefore, single displays are arranged on surrounding walls by using a custom made mounting system. Thanks to an ultra-narrow housing border, the 72 55″ displays in this showcase can be aligned as a big homogeneously display surface. To have an optimal view, even on content in the corners, the displays are aligned in a 45° angle. Commonly known interactive systems based on infrared light are usually set up like a frame around the displays surface. The primeTOUCH customised system (by Solutions4AV) functions without vertical sensors as well as in angled alignments. That enables a seamless interactive display surface. Anti-reflective glass built in the mounting system provides better haptic, optics and prevents damage to the displays.
In addition to displays on the wall, this showroom provides the option to display content on ceiling and floor. Therefore, several displays or LED modules were aligned to homogenize surfaces by using a specific substructure that is easily accessible in case of any adjustments. This substructure carries protection glass as well as a primeTOUCH customised sensor that enables the interactivity of the system. To avoid visual interruption, an additional display wall is set shortly behind the entrance.
An interactive table consisting of a conventional display and a transparent OLED display atop provides content scenarios with visual depth. Thanks to primeTOUCH technology this table recognises finger touches as well as tangible objects. This technique is known as “tangible object recognition” (TOR). TOR allows to the user to implement physical models and/or control elements to your interactive presentation.
Showcases
At ISE 2018 our primeTOUCH curved system was part of an immersive room installation.
Despite to two big entrances the “Immersive Room” allowed the customers to dive into the application. In addition to two opposite video walls, content was shown on a LED roof as well. Each video wall consisted of 6 LG Wallpaper-OLEDs. With their high black level and their bright colours they’re perfect for such immersive applications. Both walls provided the opportunity to interact with the shown content. Therefore a radarTOUCH has been installed in front of one wall, while the only solution for the other, curved wall was the primeTOUCHcurved. This worldwide unique system is the only one which enables interactivity on such tightly curved applications like shown in this application. Both systems, radarTOUCH and primeTOUCHcurved are developed and produced by EXACT solutions.
Realtime Department developed a special application to show the divers usability of such immersive, and especially interactive installations. The individual structured and designed system enabled the opportunity to adjust content in realtime. That gives the customer the opportunity to adjust his or her presentation to every situation. Additionally the system is able to remote another PC. From this PC external content could be shown, without the need to change the programming of the system.
