UVC Air Sanitizer in fight against Corona
The current COVID-19 pandemic shows, how important hygiene measures are, in stopping the virus from spreading. The aerosols are in the air, especially in public spaces such as event locations, offices, waiting areas or conference rooms, are a great risk of transmission that can be reduced with disinfecting UVC air purifiers.
Irradiation with UVC light is a very effective disinfection method in which short-wave ultraviolet light is used to inactivate microorganisms. The use of air cleaners successfully reduces the virus load in closed rooms and thus the risk of infection.

FAQ
Why UVC light?
Exposure to UVC light is a very effective disinfection method in which short-wave ultraviolet light is used to inactivate microorganisms by destroying their RNA or DNA, which means that vital cell functions can no longer be carried out. UVC air disinfection is a good method to neutralize infectious aerosols in the air.
Is UVC light dangerous?
UVC has long been a tried and tested disinfectant for surfaces, air and water. Nonetheless, UVC light can be dangerous to skin and eyes and lead to serious injuries. Direct contact must be avoided always and under all circumstances.
Are air purifiers with UVC light dangerous?
Although direct contact with UVC light is dangerous, there is no danger coming from our devices. The AIR SANITIZER’s UVC air disinfection system is enclosed in a housing. Complex light traps allow the air to flow through the device, but at the same time prevent harmful UVC residual radiation to escape from the housing.
Is UVC light really effective?
UVC light has been used for disinfection purposes for more than 40 years. All tested germs (many over the years) respond to this type of disinfection.
Are UVC light air purifiers really effective?
With continuous operation in closed rooms, the UVC air purifiers have been shown to lower the virus concentration and thus the risk of infection with airborne diseases.
What is the functional principle of an air purification device?
The air in a room is absorbed and transported through the device. It is irradiated with UVC light in the reaction chamber. This kills up to 99% of all germs in it. Clean air comes out of the device.
How long can I let the devices run?
The devices are approved for 24/7 operation.
After how many hours do I have to change the lamps?
The high-quality UVC tubes only need to be replaced after 12,000 hours, whereby they still provide 75% of the original output. This means that the effectiveness remains consistently high.
Do the air cleaners of the AIR SANITIZER series have a HEPA filter?
No, the AIR SANITIZER do not need a HEPA filter. Due to the high effectiveness in disinfection, there is no need to use additional filters to catch germs.
What do I have to consider when choosing my air purification device?
Always pay attention to how high quality the UVC lamps of a device are, because they are directly responsible for the disinfection result. The higher the UVC output of the lamps, the more efficient the sterilization will be in the end.
How many air purification devices do I need in a room?
You should first work out how much air you have in the room ( m³). Then decide how often you want to clean the entire volume.
How often does the air in the room need to be cleaned?
Depending on the conditions on site, the experts recommend cleaning the entire air volume from 2 to 6 times / hour.
Where is the best place to place my air purifier?
Ideally, you should place the air purifier where most of the aerosols are generated. A wide range of accessories is available for this. Otherwise, wall or ceiling mounting is a good option, because the aerosols tend to move upwards through the heat.
Can you measure how effective an air purifier is?
Yes, you can. We do internal computer-based simulations and calculations to prove exactly how much radiation the air flowing through our devices receives. These measurements were also confirmed by the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology.
What radiation dose do you need to kill corona viruses?
The latest studies show that a 99.9% inactivation of SARS-CoV-2 takes place at 3.7 mJ / cm². For the dimensioning of our devices, we assume significantly higher doses, up to 18mJ / cm² for 99.9% inactivation of this coronavirus.
Do the air purifiers kill other viruses and bacteria as well?
Yes, not only corona viruses can be neutralised by UVC light. All bacteria and viruses examined so far (many hundreds over the years) react to UVC disinfection.
Does UVC light also work against multi-resistant germs?
Especially good! Not only do multi-resistant germs have no chance against UVC light, but they cannot develop any resistance at all to this type of disinfection.
